ABOUT US
Ayer Public Library District shares the same boundaries as Delavan School District #703.  As a member of Alliance Library System, Ayer PLD strives to provide current materials to this small, rural community.

Library cards are available to residents in the community free of charge.  Non-resident cards are $115.00 per family per year.  Children 6-12 years can receive a juvenile card with their parents or caregivers providing poof of residency (driver's license, state ID, etc. with current address).  Junior high or high school students can also get a card with parental proof of residency or their own proof.  Internet privileges are available with a parental signature on an agreement.

WHAT IS AVAILABLE
Fiction-Ayer PLD offers a wide selection of fiction, mysteries, westerns, inspirational, science fiction, and story collections, many in Large Print format..
Non-Fiction-adult and juvenile nonfiction, biographical and reference books in varying reading levels.
Internet Access-available on a first come first serve basis.  An internet user agreement is required.  There are no chat rooms, IM, My Space, or Face Book allowed.

Videos/DVD's-free 7 day rental of a wide variety of family and children's movies including about every Walt Disney movie!
Audio Books-we are increasing this area!
PlayAways-digital books, use earphones, external speakers, or Fm adapters in your vehicles!
Magazines-current selections of popular magazines are available for check-out.
Genealogy-Ayer has The Delavan Times on microfilm back to 1874 as well as many years of the Delavan High School yearbooks.

The  library allows materials to be renewed over the phone and internet.  Ayer PLD also provides street level book returns at the book drop north of the library on Second Street.  There is a movie drop slot in the front door of the library and another book drop there as well.   Other services offered by the library staff include home delivery of library materials and curb-side service. 


STAFF
Mary Ruth Lowry is the Administrative Librarian and is assisted by Michelle, Pam, Emily, Linda and Leigh Anne.   Wendy and Vern keep the building and grounds looking good.
